Dental Myth #2: The more you brush the healthier your teeth will be.
Fact: Over-brushing your teeth can wear them out. This is due to the abrasive property of toothpaste. By over brushing you are more likely to cause dental problems than solve them. In between the twice-a-day brushing regimen, rinse after eating to avoid plaque build-up. It also helps to avoid sugary drinks as sugar and teeth do not go well together.
It is also important to wait at least 20 minutes after eating before you brush your teeth. This allows your saliva to wash away some of the acids and sugars from the food.
Not sure about your brushing regimen or technique….ask! Our dental hygienists are trained to not only clean your teeth but to teach you how to clean them at home.
